Resilience is rapidly becoming a defining investment theme of 2026, reshaping capital allocation across energy security, defence capability and critical infrastructure. In our latest Chartwell discussion paper, we examine how three structural forces are reshaping investment priorities globally: - Energy insecurity and supply-chain vulnerability - Strategic re-armament and defence spending - Climate volatility and infrastructure resilience The paper distinguishes higher-conviction opportunities from more speculative themes across Australia, Europe, the United States and Asia. Highest-conviction areas include: - Grid infrastructure and power management - Defence capability and supporting systems - Copper and strategic electrification supply chains - Battery storage and energy-efficiency technologies We also examine selective exposures including commercial EVs, water infrastructure, climate adaptation and SAF, alongside more speculative areas such as hydrogen, green ammonia and bioplastics. The central challenge for investors is identifying which businesses can convert structural tailwinds into durable earnings and long-term value. Your browser does not support viewing this document.
